The Devil is back: Lucifer, from August 21st on Netflix with the first 8 episodes of the 5th season, will keep telling us the adventures of Satan himself, played by the British actor Tom Ellis. The fans of the shows can celebrate because the showrunners confirmed that a 6th season is also in production, once again thanks to a petition which saved the show from a possible cancellation by FOX. Luckily they finished shooting this season before the lockdown but the post-production was massively delayed. The first images shared on Instagram shows Lucifer and the ex-actress and now detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) side by side.

In case you still haven’t seen this urban fantasy series, this is what you need to know about Lucifer: him, the Devil himself, decides to come to earth because bored of spending his time in hell. He even found a psychiatrist, initially convinced that his tumultuous stories are a creative way to describe his dysfunctional family. Lucifer tired of the mistreatments by God moves to Los Angeles and open a nightclub, Lux. He becomes involved in a murder case with Detective Chloe Decker and is subsequently invited to be a consultant to the LAPD. Throughout the series, several celestial and demonic threats come to Los Angeles; at the same time, Lucifer ends up developing a dangerous empathy for Chloe, which he didn’t know he was capable of.

Since the release of season 5′ trailer, the atmosphere between the couple was hot, starting with a passionate kiss but that doesn’t seem right. Lucifer’s not the same, instead of the softer version that revealed in the past he’s back to his old manners. Chloe’s shock changes the dynamics of the non-couple, opening new and intricated obstacles. The situation gets even more complicated when the police are in trouble and need his help. The original cast are all confirmed:  Lauren German, Rachael Harris, D.B. Woodside, Aimee Garcia, Kevin Alejandro and Lesley-Ann Brandt, with a new entry, Matthew Bohrer as the mysterious Donovan Glover. Among the few spoilers revealed up until now, we know that a new supernatural danger is coming. One of the most awaited moments is the fourth episode, set in the 40s and shot in black and white.
