Among Puma‘s latest collaborations there is the one made with the luxury brand Charlotte Olympia. The collection is on sale on puma.com, in the Puma Stores and in selected retailers since March 6, but let’s find out more specifically what it consists of.
Known and appreciated for the creation of collections with a luxury, sexy and playful design, the London designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal founded her namesake shoe and accessories brand in 2008 and is recognized for her meticulous attention to detail, the use of color and extravagant designs, with elements often inspired by the Hollywood of the past and the movie stars of the 1940s and 1950s.
From the meeting of Charlotte Olympia with Puma, a sportswear capsule with a couture soul was born that perfectly mixes Puma’s athleisure style with the hyper feminine aesthetic of the British luxury brand.
The capsule consists of a limited-edition collection of sneakers, clothing and accessories inspired by boxing and old Hollywood glamour, enriched with leopard prints, fringed accents and kitty faces, which have always been the characteristic style of Charlotte Olympia and that return in this collaboration with Puma in a completely original way on jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, tight-fitting dresses, tack pants, socks and various accessories including bags, fanny packs, reversible bucket hats, a cap and a visor.
The PUMA x Charlotte Olympia collection seems to be the fusion of the streetwear style and the glamorous and classic one, showing the iconic Puma spiderweb logo together with the leopard and kitty prints of the maison. Animal motifs, sequins, glitter, fringes and golden laser prints add pomp and charm to the sporty design of the collection.
Furthermore, no testimonial was chosen as the face for the PUMA x Charlotte Olympia campaign, but Alice Dellal, international model and It-girl and Charlotte’s younger sister, who appears as the only protagonist in all the shots of the lookbook, immersed in a blue sky backdrop with a vintage and surreal atmosphere.
