One of the most anticipated big evenings of the fashion system ended on the first Monday of May, leaving us with an impressive roundup of content on red carpet looks. Industry critics and fans around the world couldn’t wait to see with which fashion creations stars would interpret the theme of this year’s Met Gala in New York City. As announced several months ago, the theme of the 2024 Met Gala was “The Garden of Time,” in conjunction with the Costume Institute’s exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Borrowed from English writer J.G Ballard’s 1962 namesake short story, “The Garden of Time,” the event’s dress code left plenty of room for imagination because anything from any era was possible, in terms of style.
Where the red carpet normally features heavy gowns and dramatic costumes, this year there was a parade of delicate constructions and sheer gowns: fishnet, lace and beading that allowed for a very elegant, unfiltered appreciation of the female form.

As expected, archive and vintage fashion reigned supreme and was of the highest caliber. Many stars showed off rare finds combined with a lot of custom outfits that were inspired by classic pieces and distant eras brought back into the present.
The evening brought together all the most prominent celebrities and personalities of the moment who usually attend the event, but there were a couple of surprises (queen Cardi B returned while the long-awaited Rihanna decided not to participate!) . Zendaya, one of the stars of the Met Gala, was one of the co-chairs of the 2024 Met Gala along with Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.

The young but unstoppable actress of Challengers confirms herself as a style icon this time too with two grandiose and dramatic looks by Margiela (who also dressed Bad Bunny and Gwendoline Christie) and John Galliano for Givenchy.
There were also many celebs in Loewe creations starting from the hostess Anna Wintour and the singer Ariana Grande.
In short, we can confirm that on the evening of May 6th fashion had its well-deserved revival.
