This time the focus of the collaboration is on football clothing for everyone recoded with British tailoring. The two brands challenge the common thought that sees formal and sportswear as two antithetical worlds, with a collection of gender-free clothing and accessories. Dedicated and specially designed for the professional female football players of this summer’s main sporting event, the collection includes tailored gender-less player suits but also other classic pieces revisited in a sporty key such as a jacket, trousers, trench coat and shirt, rigorously decorated with the Nike Swoosh.

The long-sleeved tops follow the design of jerseys. Trench coats feature an additional pair of sleeves that are draped and tied at the shoulders.
Completing the outfit are bold and cool accessories like brightly colored socks, gloves and sunglasses finished with the gold Martine Rose X Nike signature. Of course, the latest Nike x Martine Rose Shox Mule MR 4 in three new colors cannot be missing. The latest iteration of the iconic shoes pays homage to the vibrant goalkeeper jerseys of the 90s, mixing striking colorways like blue and purple. Although this collection gives particular visibility to women and the female role in sports such as football, British designer Martine Rose explained that the collaboration had the broader intention of starting a dialogue on gender, going beyond the very concept of gender.
“When a woman wears a suit, it expresses strength, resilience and beauty,” comments Martine in a statement note. “I want women to feel powerful in their suits as men do. Moreover, there’s no gender attached to the suit. Anyone can wear it. I hope one day we’re not talking about gender in sports; we’re just talking about the sport itself. The collection will be released in time for the kick-off of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia. It will then launch on Martine Rose’s sito Web on July 25, followed by a release on the SNKRS app and select specialty stores on July 27.
