February is the month of women’s fashion week. The four capitals of fashion are the protagonists for the latest novelties from the designers that we will eagerly await the time to wear next summer. For now, not much is known but one thing is certain, for the lovers of the Tommy Hilfiger brand great news in sight. This year he will be re-hosted from London. The last time Tommy Hilfiger had chosen the city for his fashion show performance dates back to September 2017: on stage at the Camden Roundhouse, the Autumn 2017 Rock Circus collection was seen parading in collaboration with supermodel Gigi Hadid.
So on February 16th the city will welcome the brand’s spring summer 2020 fashion show with the new capsule collection in collaboration with the English Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. TommyXLewis Spring 2020 will be presented at the Tate Modern, the museum in the Bankside area which houses the masterpieces of international modern art ranging from Umberto Boccioni to Piet Mondrian. Inspiration? The encounter between the country and rock-and-roll world with the preppy style of the East Coast, for a high-style street collection that pushes the accelerator on the theme of sustainability. The fourth TommyXLewis co-lab will in fact be the most sustainable ever. Over 75% of the garments and accessories for spring 2020 are made of ecological materials, from organic cotton to recycled fibers, to vegan leather, low environmental impact denim washes and miDori® bioWick, a finishing agent based on vegetable seed oil.
From day one, Lewis and I have embarked on a journey to introduce innovative manufacturing principles and sustainable materials into each of our collaborations. We are proud to reach new goals every season “said the designer.
Hamilton’s origins, who come from Hertfordshire, also influenced the choice of London city, which for the occasion decided to celebrate his 35th birthday in his hometown.
