GUCCI X THE NORTH FACE CAPSULE REVEALED

In September in the middle of Milan Fashion Week, Gucci with an unexpected announcement managed to capture the total attention of all lovers of the fashion system. The object was a first and unexpected collaboration with The North Face. The press release arrived through the Florentine maison’s Instagram and TikTok portals. And so after nearly three months of waiting, the Gucci x The North Face collaboration was revealed. Explore the fashion universe at 360 °. From prêt-à-porter, to footwear for the mountains, from tents to sleeping bags. The shots of the capsule collection bear the signature of Daniel Shea.

Gucci takes its imaginary world of the 70s on an unusual excursion into the mountains. The two brands have created a collaborative capsule that, in addition to clothes, includes everything that could be needed for a camping holiday. And here are coats padded with goose down, bomber jackets and backpacks retrieved from the 70s archives of The North Face adorned with the distinctive imprint of Alessandro Michele; Fluo colors and floral patterns only all over. Other key items are T-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets with the special Gucci x The North Face logo. Plus bold patterned shirts and brightly colored jumpsuits. The collection also features a trekking boot in three colors (brown, black and cream) with the Goodyear sole, string-like laces and the collection logo on the side.

Last but not least, the material used to make the collection is ECONYL, a nylon fabric made with fibers that can be recycled and recreated, perfectly fitting the sustainability objectives pursued by both brands.

The Gucci x The North Face capsule will arrive in stores around the world only in January. But it will make its first debut on December 29 at the Gucci Pin store in Beijing, China. Later it will be distributed in other stores in the country. A choice, we think, made following the recent partnership with the Alibaba Group’s Tmall platform. This allowed the Florentine brand to enter the Chinese luxury market. Here it will be present with two digital flagship stores: one for clothing and one for beauty.
