The second day at the Milan Fashion Week was full of surprises and all the runway shows conquered the hearts of fashion addicted girls like me or like Chiara Ferragni, who of course couldn’t miss the event and was sitting in the front row! Fendi gave us incredible emotions, while the great Karl Lagerfeld managed to create an amazing show thanks to the lightening, special effects, wonderful dresses and amazing accessories, that catapulted us in a parallel dimension made of games and childish elements.
In the building in Via Solari, which once was the exhibition venue for the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and that now is the new maison for this italian brand, for a couple of hours, we were introduced in a dream-like experience thanks to the models and most of all to the runway show curators, who took us back to our childhood (as a matter of fact, models had their hair tied in typical childish pigtails). Moreover this style was a tribute to the Japanese culture, which was particularly evident in the clothes worn by the amazing Victoria’s Secret Angel Gigi Hadid, who had the chance to express all her beauty through semi-transparent clothing pieces and flowery patterns.
The must-haves for the next season, at least according to Fendi, will be very light pastel colors, loose models and striped patterns that, on the catwalk, will be enhanced by metallic make-up and by unique shoes, such as ankle boots, even in neon colors. Anyway, the main accessories were colorful, exaggerated and detailed bags, that even the great tennis player Serena Williams claimed to love. The highlight of the show was Gigi for sure. It’s incredible, but I remember getting to know this beautiful tewnty-one year old girl in Seattle many years ago, when she was attending the same institute and the same classes as my young sister Federica, and now I just met her again during the Milan Fashion Week… it’s such a pleasure to see how far she’s come!
