Fendi collaborates with FRAGMENT by Hiroshi Fujiwara, designing a special collection inspired by Pokémon for the Year of the Dragon.
As is already known, more and more fashion brands are showing interest not only in the Asian market, for obvious reasons, but also in their traditions. That of the Lunar New Year and the Chinese zodiac signs is one of them.
2024 will indeed be the year of the Dragon and Fendi already has a special collaboration ready on this theme.
As part of the Friends of Fendi project, the artistic directors of the LVMH fashion house, Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi, called on the founder of Fragment design, Hiroshi Fujiwara, streetwear guru, to create an exclusive capsule with Pokémon.
“When I was asked to work on this project, I had no reason to refuse – declares Fujiwara -. I really enjoyed collaborating with the artistic directors Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi. It was a true honor to work with Fendi, a brand whose craftsmanship is exceptional. I am grateful for this opportunity”
More specifically, the project includes two different collections, one created exclusively between the maison and fragment design and the one that also involves Pokémon.
The first sees a selection of bags and t-shirts based on the FRGMT lettering and a yellow interpretation of the FF monogram.
The second features Pokemon designed on the features of dragons, therefore Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite, which become the protagonists of the collection on Peekaboo and Baguette bags.
But obviously there is much more.
The line also includes leisurewear pieces for men and women in the form of t-shirts, hoodies and silk pajamas. The collaboration also includes a precious limited edition Dragonite, made by Fendi artisans, with quality leather and branded with its own FF silk scarf.
Fendi’s collaboration with Pokémon also includes a selection of jewellery, from earrings to rings, in galvanized brass with the Maison’s iconic FF logo with Pokémon signatures, including Dratini and Dragonair and even the famous Poké Ball which opens onto a bracelet.
Furthermore, as part of this exciting collaboration, FENDI, Fragment and Pokémon have also announced a partnership with Pokémon GO: starting January 4, 2024, Pokémon GO Trainers will be able to obtain digital avatar items with models from the FENDI x FRGMT x POKEMON collection.
The FENDI x FRGMT and FENDI x FRGMT x POKÉMON collections will be available in a selected network of FENDI boutiques around the world and on fendi.com starting from 4 January 2024.
