Bulgari since the start of the pandemic has always been ready to help: from its collaboration with Save the Children to the support of many hospitals all over the world (Italy, Switzerland, UK and Japan). Now the brand announced the creation of the Bulgari Virus Free Fund, a non-profit organization that will help finance the research for finding a cure for the virus. “Children, health, art and the environment have always been our priorities,” explains the CEO of the group, Jean-Cristophe Babin. “In the past months, we assisted at the terrible repercussions that the COVID-19 had all over the world. We can’t let this happen again”.
The fund support two main institutions: the Jenner Institute of the Oxford University, a branch of researchers that are currently trying to create and develop a vaccine and the Istituto Nazionale per le Malattie Infettive Lazzaro Spallanzani (Rome), that Bulgari already supported at the beginning of the pandemic. In collaboration with the Jenner Institute, the Fund will offer two scholarships that will cover four years of doctorate. All these initiatives will support graduates and researchers to help them fight the COVID-19 virus but also to support the creation of the Bulgari Clinical Fund, for the development and experimentation of new form of therapies and vaccines. Sara Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology at Oxford, explains that: “Our hope is to be ready with a vaccine in autumn. The distribution? The first will be countries and people who are more vulnerable. For example Italy and elders”. The clients of the brand can donate to the fund through blockchain, a tool that guarantees to track every donation.
But the Bulgari Virus Free Fund it’s not the only sustainable project launched by the brand. Apart from the emergency, their focus is on multiple global issues: they recently announced, for example, that all the hotel and resorts owned by the brand will go plastic-free by the end of 2020, as well as the packaging of their products at the beginning of 2021. Then there is the big topic of making every move transparent as possible with the revolutionary blockchain, a system that allows both to the companies and the consumers to track every step of the production of the products, formed by multiple pieces of information block hack-free.
