The death of George Floyd completely shook the world. On one side we ha the protests, the public mourning of a community that is tired of getting oppressed by the systematic racism. On the other side, we have what Floyd left behind him, his private life, including his six years old daughter Gianna. And Barbra Streisand wanted to give her a special gift: the artist donated part of her Disney shares to Gianna, which now makes her an official stockholder of the company. Gianna thanked her with an Instagram post where the kid showed the documents that arrived with two albums of the artist, My Name Is Barbra and Color Me Barbra.
It’s not clear how many stocks Barbra Streisand donated to Gianna, but is estimated that a single investment of 1000 dollars in 2010 in Disney stocks, now values 4600 dollars. So Streisand gave her a small heritage that is constantly increasing, to give Gianna a better future.
We can’t forget about the donation made by the rapper Kanye West, that created a fund to allow Floyd’s daughter to proceed with her academic career.
