Balenciaga‘s campaigns, season after season gets weirder and surprising. Last week the creative director of the brand Demna Gvasalia released a minimal lookbook for his latest collection in which the models looked very bored, with their void gaze, yawning and smug faces. This time, the designer got inspired by the intro of the most famous reality show of our time: Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The parody/campaign is titled “Real Balenciaga”.
But Balenciaga is not the only brand that got a bit carried away with the inspiration. Under the spotlight a few days ago there was the brand Philipp Plein, that got accused by the Instagram profile Diet Prada of copying the graphics of the latest Dior collaboration with Stussy, for the launch of the new Philipp Plein sneakers: THE $KULL.
At the moment the brand didn’t respond to the accusations but let’s see how things will evolve.
