A great and unique collection like the ones presented by the great Carolina Herrera can only be born when style meets elegance. This amazing woman, whom I had the chance to
meet after the show, is an icon of elegance, energy and determination, which are exactly the assets a classy woman must have. This show took us back to 35 years ago. As a matter of fact, in 1981 Carolina Herrera started her carreer with her first collection and today, in New York, she presented a collection influenced by her style during the years that made her famous. Dresses with taffeta belts, bombers and jeans are just some of the main pieces of the SS2017 collection. Moreover you couldn’t help but notice the models, who look even better live. The same applies to the clothes, that I managed to analyse closely after the show, in the backstage of the Herrera Maison.
This collection for sure didn’t let me down, and the day in New York was very exciting, even more thanks to the chance I had to chat with Chriselle Lim, one of the coolest and most followed fashion bloggers!
Do you want to know which piece of clothing particularly stuck with me? It’s really hard to pick one, as they were all very original. Nevertheless, I really appreciated the idea to use denim for a dancing gown. In conclusion, this is a new collection based on an old concept that, just like the woman who’s behind it, is still completely modern: “be womanly with no effort”.
