It was last November when Versace announced that for the fall-winter 2023 season it would not show in February during Milan women’s fashion, as it usually does, but that it would choose Los Angeles to present its next co-ed show. The fashion show was in fact scheduled for Friday 10 March, two days before the long-awaited night of the Oscars. A perfect program if it weren’t for a small but decisive unexpected event: the excessively rainy weather in Los Angeles.
“Due to adverse weather conditions, the show will be brought forward to 5:00 pm on Thursday 9 March“, writes the Italian maison in an official statement, also sending a notice to all its guests 48 hours before the new show date.
But the fashion world is now used to hitches and twists and a personality like Donatella Versace would certainly not have been caught unprepared.
In short, “alarm returned” for the Fall-Winter 2023/24 fashion show staged in one of the imposing buildings of the Pacific Design Center, in the West Hollywood district.
A long red corridor, which would have led to the place of the fashion show, has also become a catwalk littered with photographers and cameramen who anxiously awaited the arrival of the numerous Celebs invited to the event.
In fact, the front row shone with stars such as Cher, Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore, Miley Cyrus, Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa, Lil Nass X, Paris Hilton, Channing Tatum, Anne Hathaway and Elton John. And on the catwalk, the situation was impressive as well.
Donatella has in fact chosen a line-up of supermodels, from Gigi Hadid to Kendall Jenner passing through Naomi Campbell, who animated the catwalk at sunset.

Luxury and elegance were the guidelines of the Versace show and this was not only confirmed by the desire to have the most popular and requested supermodels of the moment and to surround the event with the biggest stars. Even the collection itself is a rediscovery of the stylistic cornerstones that have made the history of the brand.
“I felt the need to go back to a certain tailoring and think a little less streetwear. I wanted real glamour, the understated one, the one that isn’t just made of sequins and sparkles. To dress the woman giving her a silhouette full of charm”.
Thus Donatella Versace presents a real hymn to the glamorous world of the 80s and 90s, reinterpreting some garments from a 1995 collection by Gianni Versace and reminding us the charming power of the color black.
