The designer of Roman origins is going to be at the helm of the brand that symbolizes Nineties minimalism.
Veronica Leoni’s creative work for the brand will pick up from 2019, the year in which The Calvin Klein Collection closed its doors after then-Chief Creative Officer Raf Simons left the company. Simons had given the label a unique connotation, inspired by streetwear. However, his bold approach seems to have failed to deliver the desired results in terms of sales and in 2018 Simons and CK parted ways due to their creative differences.
But who is the designer who inherited the arduous but prestigious task of bringing the high-end section of the brand back to light? Leoni is definitely not an unknown name in the fashion scene of the last decade. In fact, the designer has already worked at Jil Sander, Moncler, The Row and Céline (yes, #oldceline by Phoebe Philo). Many will also have already heard of the brand she founded, QUIRA, with which she obtained recognition as a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2023.

“I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to write a new chapter in the history of Calvin Klein – commented the Italian designer -. For decades, Calvin Klein has exemplified the idea of bold self-expression, and I’m ready to empower it with a strong focus on style and creativity. I am deeply grateful to Eva Serrano for her vision and trust. My career has been marked by inspiring encounters with some of the most visionary women in fashion and she is one of them. I also want to thank PVH CEO Stefan Larsson for the extraordinary opportunity to celebrate one of the most influential brands in American fashion.”
In addition, global brand director Eva Serrano stated: “We are proud to appoint Veronica as creative director of the Collection, the flagship expression of the Calvin Klein brand. From our initial conversations, it was clear that the work of a Veronica Leoni’s life has prepared her for this moment and the opportunity to define a new era for Calvin Klein.”
In her new role at Calvin Klein Collection, Leoni will be the first woman to lead the brand. For her debut for Calvin Klein we should wait until 2025, but we already have a good feeling about it.
