Lovers of Upper East Side’s intrigue and glamor, get ready, Gossip Girl is coming back! The first photos from Gossip Girl’s reboot set were shared with the entire cast sitting on the stairs of the temple of international glamor: the MET Museum.
But what can we guess from these images and what do we know about the return of Gossip Girl? The good news is that original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are also executive producers on the reboot. This means that whatever the story will be about, it comes from the same minds of those who made Gossip Girl a global success. We know that Kristen Bell will still be the narrative voice of the show. However, we will not find the true stars of the original series: Blake Lively and Leighton Meester, respectively Serena and Blair, yet we know that their characters will somehow part of the narration.
The plot will not be particularly different from the original one and the series will focus on a new generation of upper-class students who will find themselves under the watchful eye of Gossip Girl again, obviously in a changed New York’s society. Gossip Girl’s reboot cast includes Evan Mock, Eli Brown, Zión Moreno, Jordan Alexander, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Savannah Smith, Thomas Doherty and Whitney Peak.
There is no official date for the debut of the new season, yet it is likely that an important part of it will be launched by the end of 2020. The casting is still ongoing and the current social distancing measures have virtually stalled production on the series. We just have to wait. xoxo
