The third restaurant of the Santucci family was opened in the elegant Parioli district of Rome, a family that has made the history of Roman catering. Entirely dedicated to meat, Taglio Reale offers its customers excellent cuts and raw materials of the highest quality. Valerio, son of Fabrizio Santucci, is at the helm of this third big project. His goal is to “bring good meat to the table“. An idea that looks simple but that requires great commitment and a constant search for products that are always fresh and genuine. But the Santucci family is a guarantee in this and the “third” child is yet another demonstration.
A welcoming and modern location, four large windows overlook the street. The iron doors recall the high counters inside the restaurant and the vintage stools. The mise en place is traditional, obviously and strictly with the tablecloth. The green sofa gives a touch of color to the predominantly neutral environment.
Bookstores display wines rather than books. On the walls we find many and large mirrors. The focus of the restaurant is obviously the meat, which comes directly from the historic Feroci Butcher Shop. To start, taste the tartare, the carpaccio or cold cuts to taste with buffalo mozzarella, melted scamorza, burrata and even some veg friendly dishes like cheese focaccia, zucchini strudel, caprese, eggplant parmigiana or some seasonal vegetables .
Grilled meat, in the pan and in the oven Taglio Reale has thought of everyone. Rib, sliced and beef tenderloin, Florentine, black angus, lamb chops. If the mouth watering hasn’t come yet, you should know that the burger with melted cheese will drive your taste buds crazy. The only first course you will find on the menu are the fettuccine pulled by hand with fresh tomato sauce and basil leaves creamed directly in the room.
The wine list is extensive and of the highest quality, however there is still a small selection of beers. Conclude this bellyful with delicious homemade desserts.
The third bet of the Santucci family has certainly been won.
