The final season of Peaky Blinders should arrive much sooner than you might expect.
Director Anthony Byrne has published on Instagram a short teaser of the main protagonist, played by Cillian Murphy, who walks through the deserted streets with a large bag in his hand. As he looks out of the camera, the clip pauses to show the series’ title and text, “Early 2022.” Accompanying the clip is the caption: “We’re coming to pick you up sooner than you think. In order of…”, a clear reference to the keywords of the series.
The final season is expected to arrive in early 2022 and will focus on the changes that will take place in the family after the death of Helen McCrory, who played matriarch Polly Gray.
Among the main reasons that have determined the extraordinary success of this series is undoubtedly its protagonist: Tommy Shelby knows how to be ruthless and violent when it comes to protecting his family. Disillusioned with life and love, there is nothing he would not do to keep his siblings safe. Cold and serious, he rarely loses his temper. But he is also a man who does not forgive and cannot pass over any betrayal, even if it was a friend who carried it out. For the sake of his family, his gang and the whole neighborhood of Small Heath, and even all of Birmingham, he is ready to sacrifice anyone. Everything must be under control in what is the city of the Peaky Blinders. Tried by the war that he will never forget, for which he received a medal of valor, but that he only wishes he could erase from his mind; his heart has broken several times, so he does not want to give it to anyone and appears impenetrable and inscrutable, an iceman.
