Virgil Abloh was undoubtedly the most creative designer of our time. In every part of the world, no designer or brand has paid homage to his talent and his immense ability to reach consumers.
Louis Vuitton, of which Abloh was Creative Director, has partnered with Nike and Sotheby’s to release a sneaker, namely the Air Force 1, in an exclusive and unprecedented colorway whose sales proceeds will go to charity. The protagonists of the initiative are 200 exclusive pairs that have been produced in Italy, and enriched by the typical design of the Maison. The classic Swoosh instead will be made of white and gray Damier fabric. The rubber midsole is embellished with the air inscription. In addition, to increase the hype, each piece will be contained in an exclusive orange briefcase entirely enriched by the classic Monogram.
Bids for this Sotheby’s auction will be open from January 26 to February 8 and start at $2,000. 100% of the proceeds from the sale will go to Virgil Abloh ™’s “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund, which along with the Fashion Scholarship Fund, works to support the education of the most promising black, African American, and African students.
