The actress and producer of the film Barbie continues to surprise us, bringing to life the clothes worn by the most iconic doll in the world.
Margot Robbie looks like she’s embarked on a massive style mission ahead of the release of the Barbie movie, which hits theaters in less than two weeks.
The lead actress along with her stylist Andrew Mukamal are taking barbie-themed clothing to a whole new level, freaking fans around the world every time Margot shows up on a red carpet as a vision in pink from Mattel.
Robbie and Mukamal have in fact created a wardrobe specifically for the film press tour so absolutely perfect that it seems literally taken from the wardrobe of Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse.
All the looks that Margot Robbie continues to show off are inspired by those of original Barbie dolls starting from the 50s. They therefore constitute references to specific versions of dolls that the actress almost disturbingly manages to bring back to life, in flesh and bone.
FromChanel‘s vintage tweed to Bottega Veneta‘s custom pink coordinates, the stylist worked with major fashion houses to create “Barbie Margot’s” wardrobe.
Among the most impressive looks seen during the press tour in various countries, we can mention the leather dress by Balmain inspired by 1992’s Barbie Earrings Magic, the retro suit with crystal studs and a heart-shaped quilted bag by Moschino that mentioned the Sparkling Pink Barbie from 1964 or the polka dot minidress by Valentino that winks at the more recent 2015’s Barbie Pink & Fabulous dress.

Equally breathtaking was Margot in the Totally Hair Barbie version (1992), with an Emilio Pucci dress sublimated by blonde and fluffy hair.
Unforgettable then the two coordinated Versace looks that Margot wore in South Korea, which followed those of Barbie in 1985, Day to Night. The first daytime look obviously included a hot pink Versace skirt suit with a pink and white hat and pink purse, followed by an evening gown featuring a tulle skirt with a shimmering beaded bodice.
Although all this may seem excessive, the stylistic project in which the actress and her entire team has ventured has an impeccable logic and an unmatched communicative effectiveness.
“Barbie really is interlinked with fashion, because how you play with her is by dressing her,” costume designer for the film, Jacqueline Durran, previously told in an interview. “Clothes are her form of expression.”
The last fantastic themed appearance was yesterday, when Margot Robbie made her arrival in Los Angeles for the world premiere of “Barbie”, again leaving everyone speechless. For the occasion, the actress wore a strapless Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown entirely covered in sequins, a glittering reproduction of the 1960s special edition Barbie Solo in the Spotlight, complete with a frill adorned with a single red rose and velvet gloves.

Now that we can definitively declare ourselves Barbie addicted, we can’t wait to find out what the star’s next look will be.
