Even luxury fashion begins to fight with the coronavirus and gets involved. Sunday, March 15, 2020 the giant LVMH which also produces the perfumes of Christian Dior, Guerlain and Givenchy among others announced that three of its cosmetic factories will produce hydroalcoholic sanitizing gels, given the sudden urgency due to the rapid spread of the virus that provoked a scarcity of the product worldwide. The gel will be distributed free of charge to all hospitals in France. “With this initiative” explains the luxury giant “we want to help the country and people to take the necessary measures against the spread of the virus“.
LVMH wastes no time and moves even before the sanitizing gel stocks are exhausted in France, the country where the government has established the standard price of the product and the rule to sell a maximum of one bottle per person in pharmacies.
In Italy the product is really impossible to find and a solution comes from the WHO (World Health Organization). The organization felt it necessary to distribute the recipe for making the gel at home, to be carried out in the manner indicated by the experts. The recipe with the video tutorial was published on the Corriere della Sera website.
The necessary ingredients are pure alcohol at 96 degrees, purified water, 3% hydrogen peroxide and glycerol.
