In the heart of Rome, exactly at Vicolo Cellini 30, there is a bar that you do not expect and which, attention, you cannot access if you do not know the password. It is the first secret Italian bar par excellence, we are talking about Jerry Thomas Speakeasy!
Set up by four Roman bartenders (Antonio Parlapiano, Roberto Artusio, Leonardo Lecui and Alessandro Procoli) linked by a passion for Mixology, Jerry Thomas is a 1920s-style venue inspired by American prohibition, where you can enjoy a good (and nice) cocktail in the heart of the capital.

The evening starts at 10 pm and ends at 4 am, but you cannot show up without a reservation, which is done only by calling a number (you find it on their web site) at a specific time slot, only from Tuesday to Saturday. And once you get to the club? Well, you ring the bell and refer to the password that, attention, you will have to get by answering a simple question hidden on the homepage of the site, simple isn’t it?
The access phase, although it may seem tortuous, will make your evening perfect and exclusive! Not for nothing, the Jerry Thomas Speakeasy claims to have been included 5 times in the 50 Top Bar, ranking of the best bars in the world.
There are also some simple rules to follow at Jerry Thomas: do not take photos, smoke in moderation and never ask for vodka for any reason in the world (in true prohibitionist style).
If you’ve never been to a secret bar and love retro taste, what are you waiting for? Jerry Thomas Speakeasy is the place for you!
