Jacquemus presented the Spring/Summer 2021 collection with a beautiful fashion show in the French’s countryside. The event was outside of the official Fashion Week’s calendar, and both the Womenswear and Menswear collections walked down the runway. The weather wasn’t sunny as Simon Porte wanted, but the gloomy sky still gave a dreamy feeling to the show.
The new Jacquemus’ “L’Amour” collection is a declaration of love for his team, rich of Provençal references such as ceramics, a poem by Miro, a corner of a grandmother’s tablecloth, and a colander of cherries. Everything from the puff sleeves, the feminine tight skirts and dresses that accentuate the figure, wants to give a feeling of natural beauty. The colour palette is neutral with some yellow accents, substituting the fil rose of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
For the menswear, Jacquemus opts for a leaf print, Picasso motifs and cut-out hearts. The womenswear as always is sensual and embrace femininity, the crop tops and blouses are paired with skirt slits that show off the legs and necklines that accentuate the breast. The vibe is effortless, natural, almost the result of a night of passion.
The accessories include minimal sandals and the iconic La Chiquito Bag used as an earring charm. The jewellery completes the look, like the maxi leaf-shaped gold earrings. The hair is long, either left natural or tied up in a bun.
