For his first cruise show Sabato de Sarno brings Gucci back to its origins in a certain sense.
Although the brand is currently based in Milan, the house’s foundations took shape in London during the time its founder, Guccio Gucci, worked at the Savoy Hotel as a porter. Inspired by the clothes and luxurious travel luggage of the hotel guests, the young designer returned to Italy to begin his journey into craftsmanship and high fashion.
So now the new creative director of the brand returns to honor the wide cultural diversity of London and its symbolic value for the Gucci heritage, bringing all his prestigious guests to the Tate modern Museum, where a modern garden of Eden worked as a backdrop to the catwalk.

Dua Lipa, Demi Moore, Law Roach, Kate Moss, Paul Mescal, Andrew Scott and others took their seats in the front row and together with the other guests enjoyed the performances of Arca and Kaytranada after the fashion show.
Taking even just a glance at the looks on the catwalk, we can state that Sarno showed his strongest collection to date, consolidating his ability to merge Gucci’s heritage with a high and refined modern urbanity in a single creative work.
Tomboy style defined Gucci’s Cruise 2025 collection, fusing masculine and feminine designs in delicate pastels and deep primary tones. Delicate fabrics were a key element, featured in sheer skirts, dresses and lace bralettes. Sheer organza took on dramatic shapes in pink, green and blue. The mission was to bring together and merge the unfailing simplicity of British uniforms with Italian sophistication. It can be seen in several looks, composed of miniature hot pants à la Miu Miu and accessorized with romantic pearls and thin frames.

Relaxed silhouettes have been revisited with oversized buttoning and patchwork denim, always leaving plenty of visibility to the shape of the body, especially the legs.
“Exploring a creative direction means entering a pre-existing space and having it seen through your eyes, going from room to room in order to reshape the building. We chose London for the cruise fashion show, knowing that it was the right choice”, explained Sabato De Sarno, to introduce the collection, “I owe a lot to this city, which welcomed me and knew how to listen to me. The same goes for Gucci, whose founder was inspired by his experience in this city. The return of the maison is motivated by the desire to immerse us in the unmistakable essence, in the creative force of the city, with its infinite ability to connect contrasts and make them dialogue, encouraging co-existence. We are here today to celebrate this spirit.”
