From Seattle Grace Hospital to US Healthcare, why? The coronavirus has blocked numerous television and film productions, including those of Grey’s Anatomy with a two-week stop. But the Shonda Rhimes TV series decided to go one step further and donate the stocks of hospital gloves and gowns that had been ordered for filming to the American hospitals where they are in short supply, in addition to the 300 masks. All certified sanitary material (film realism needs).
It was Krista Vernoff, executive producer of the ABC series, who made the gesture known during his speech at Good Morning America. “At Station 19 (Grey’s Anatomy spin-off) we were lucky enough to have 300 of the coveted N95 masks and we gave them to the city fire station. They were deeply grateful, “she explained.
An example that was followed by other medical-type television series such as The Good Doctor and The Resident and also by Ryan Murphy who gave away all the medical material purchased and not used on the set of the third season of Pose.
