EASTPAK X CLARKS. THE COLLAB THAT COMBINES FUNCTIONALITY AND 90’S STYLE.

The British footwear brand Clarks is known for its models with a classic and subdued elegance but lately it has been embarking on dynamic and youthful collaborations that move away from the traditional reputation of the brand. One of these is the most recent partnership with Eastpak, from which a footwear collection was born that represents the perfect fusion between the styles of the two brands, characterized by highly functional, comfortable and robust design and materials.

The shoe model on which the collaboration is centered is the Clarks Torhill. The new Torhill Clarks X Eastpak are inspired by two Clarks classics: Wallabee and the 90s model Big Gripper.

Available in black, white and red, the shoes are crafted from authentic, weather-resistant Eastpak canvas with an added layer of Strobel padding (the same fabric used for its bags). Each shoe is made with a removable Contour Cushion leather insole.

Plus, instead of the crepe-finish outsole we’ve come to expect from any traditional Clarks, the Torhills from Eastpak are complemented by a thick, translucent thermoplastic rubber outsole that provides lightweight traction in all weathers and gives them that signature bold yet a little nostalgic look.

To complete the profile of the shoe, we find some eye-catching black zippers, a carrying tab on the back (like those sewn on backpacks) and the patch with the Eastpak logo.

To ensure a perfect fit, the Clarks x Eastpak Torhill is available in two models (high top and low top), for both men and women. The collection was advertised with a music-focused campaign led by British singer-songwriter Cat Burns, known for her 2020 chart-topping single Go.

Tara McRae, CMO of Clarks, commented on the Eastpak x Clarks collection saying: “Our mission at Clarks is to empower everyone with the freedom to move comfortably. To me, that’s the filter by which we put everything we do through. If it doesn’t ladder back up to that, it’s most likely not right for the brand. This is precisely why a collaboration with Eastpak was a natural fit. Our core values run parallel.”

In short, the watchwords are innovation, practicality and craftsmanship. Seasoning everything with an unusual 90s aesthetic, the Eastpak x Clarks collection pays tribute to the mastery of both brands and carries forward a concept that is not taken for granted in today’s fashion scene: that of things made to resist.
