CHRISTMAS IS SPARKLING THANKS TO THE SEQUINS TREND

If you don’t want to go wrong, this Christmas and New Year’s Eve go for traditional gold and silver, but in a sparkling version: sequins and glitters are back. This combo is fundamental for Christmas parties; it had already been announced by the spring-summer 2018 trends and was back for winter thanks to Christopher Kane, Richard Malone e Alexander McQueen, that brought to the catwalk tons of glitters, mixing atmospheres from the 80’s with vaguely folk looks. Sequins in rockabilly style for Tom Ford, who pairs them to strong colours, animalier prints and multi-colour patchwork (still 80’s inspired), fitting them to man tailoring.

Also, Carolina Herrera confessed her passion for sparkles, in silver or in fluorescent colours. Thus, this winter’s look will be shiny, a bit flapper and “queen of the night” inspired, to turn clothes into neon billboards and tear down the walls of bon-ton. As a matter of fact, we will be wearing sequins also in the daytime, maybe on a t-shirt with a shiny logo or embellished by glitter details. Don’t be afraid to wear an adherent mini dress in sequins: it’s this winter’s trend; my suggestion is to match it with sober and mono-color accessories and purse. No to chandelier earrings or too visible collier, if your outfit has metallic or sparkling elements. Those who think that sequins are just too much could avoid the “all over” effect and go for an elegant sequinned accessory.
