Burberry dedicates an entire campaign the new Pocket Bag, designed by Riccardo Tisci starring Bella Hadid. The campaign shot and filmed by Inez and Vinoodh is inspired by the Burberry Animal Kingdom, one of the brand’s house code, created for the first time by the founder Thomas Burberry, that choose as the brand’s logo a knight riding a horse and a unicorn as his family’s coat of arms. A similar approach to Tisci that always gets his inspiration from the animal kingdom creating different animal prints each season. The bag is part of the FW19 collection inspired by the Burberry’s archive.
Made in Italy, the bag is refined with contrast stitching, hand-painted borders and a reinforced handle as well as a removable strap. “For me, a lot of my creative concepts come from discovering old house codes and then creating new ones,” says Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer for Burberry. “I have always loved going into the archives and that is where I found the inspiration for this Pocket Bag. For Burberry’s first ever bag campaign, I knew that I needed to give the Pocket Bag a powerful modern energy and so together with Katy, Inez and Vinoodh we developed an exciting campaign inspired by Burberry’s Animal Kingdom,” he explains. “Animals have always been a creative obsession and signature of mine, and it was so amazing to see Bella Hadid bring this to life as the panther. She has this fierce power and raw femininity that perfectly embodies the animal spirit.”
The new Pocket Bag by Burberry designed by Riccardo Tisci is available on the brands’ official website and Burberry stores. Recently the brand inaugurated a new high technology store in Shenzhen, China on July 31st. A luxury social store that occupies a 539 square meters divided into 10 different ambients characterized by neutral colours and animal elements.
