A few days after the launch of her new beauty haircare line, the American actress made famous by her iconic role in Gossip Girl returns to flood our feeds with a glamorous nostalgic look.
On the occasion of the promotion of the film “It Ends With Us”, Blake showed off a flurry of floral looks that pay homage to her character, the flower girl Lily Bloom and which made her the protagonist not only of the film, based on the novel of the same name by 2016 by Colleen Hoover, but also of its respective red carpets.
A shining example of Method Dressing, the clothes worn by Blake Lively during the premiere were not limited to being a reinterpretation of the floral dressing that links her looks to the plot of the film. In fact, among the latest outfits, the actress has declaredly paid homage to an icon of pop culture and music, namely Britney Spears.

On Tuesday 6 August at the premiere in New York Blake Lively surprised us all with a pleasant déjà vu (millenials edition). The 36-year-old actress arrived at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater with her husband Ryan Reynolds and showed off the Versace dress worn by Britney Spears during a fashion show of the house in 2002. A sensual mermaid dress with transparencies and a kaleidoscope of colors and iridescent rainbow embroidery entered the history of the brand thanks to the pop star.
For the more sceptical, the actress confirmed: The dress is exactly the same one that lit up Britney 22 years ago: “It’s Britney’s real dress,” Lively told the press present at the premiere, “it should be at the Smithsonian [ Institution] or the Met[ropolitan Museum of Art], But it’s on me. I feel so lucky!”.
Blake also made it clear in his stories on her Instagram profile her intention to pay homage to Spears: “Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work. Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories. I’m very excited about your biopic and all you have to come.”
The reference is to the biopic inspired by Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me officially announced in recent days, after months of negotiations for right’s acquisition, which will be produced by Marc Platt and directed by Jon M. Chu.
