Balmain and water brand Evian continue their partnership projects and unveil their latest collaboration, the second in a series launched last year. Unlike the couture focus that had characterized their first collab, this time the two brands have created a collection of sporty RTW and accessories, but always focusing on the theme of sustainability, demonstrating the possibilities of a creative use of recycled materials.
Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, and his team have created a series of “captivating, limited-edition ready-to-wear design items and accessories, pairing classic sportswear silhouettes with pastel shades.”
Since both house founder Pierre Balmain and Evian have deep roots in Savoy, the mountainous region of southeastern France, the campaign for the second collaboration, directed by director Carlota Guerrero, highlights this shared origin story, showing the ballet company La Marche Bleue among the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees.

Created using a wide variety of eco-friendly practices, materials and innovations, the collection of “relaxed styles puts the collaboration’s focus on the powerful possibilities of a future world of sustainable fashion” but does not sacrifice its aesthetics and the exceptional sartorial expertise of the luxury brand.
Indeed, by collaborating once again Evian and Balmain are eschewing the stereotype of unfashionable sustainable fashion. Within the collection we find leotards, sports suits and denim trucker jackets covered in a balayage of soft shades of pink and blue cut with squared pockets and fastened with the Maison’s signature gold buttons.
For the occasion, Balmain also partnered with Solaris, a company specializing in recycling innovations, with whom it worked on a new version of the B-It sliders and that’s more. Solaris assisted the accessory design team further, helping to create an Evian-themed take on the luxurious Blaze handbag, using a 45% plant-based resin mixture to 3D-print the body and cover of the Blaze”. The bag’s handle and lock logo were also 3D-printed, relying on a 100% rPET material created from recycled Evian waste (Evian rPET flakes) that didn’t meet circularity standards.
Balmain x Evian is a perfect example of how sustainability and creativity can combine seamlessly together. In particular Rousteing is determined to spur both the team of his brand and more generally the entire fashion industry towards more informed and evolved choices during each of the numerous phases of creation of garments and accessories – production, processing and manufacturing, up to packaging , labeling and distribution of the final projects.
In addition to being eco-sustainable, the collection with Evian celebrates “the joys of summer”, presenting itself with the slogan “Together, change is beautiful“.
The garments are now available on Balmain.com and in selected boutiques around the world.
