Thanks to the last Christmas holidays, Steam won a new record: almost 28 million users connected simultaneously; most of them were engaged in a challenge to “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive”.
About eight million were in the game, while the remaining 20 million were simply on Steam, browsing through its platform or sending messages to friends.
Dota 2 ranked second. Then follow PUBG, Apex legends, and GTA V.
Among the most clicked games also Team Fortress 2, Rust, ARK: Survival Evolved, Destiny 2, and even the 2013 title PAYDAY 2.
Among the most beloved games is also youtuber FNAF Security Breach, released on December 6, 2021, one of the very few in which players were given the opportunity to explore a much larger map. And Life is Strange: True Colors, which won the “Game Awards” for Best Impact Game.
We also point out a horror-puzzle game, “Poppy Playtime”, released in October 2021, and whose second chapter will be released in early 2022, brought by many content creators and still in fashion.
Interestingly, Halo Infinite only came in at #39, with Battlefield 2042 not even making it into the top 100 and confirming itself as the biggest flop of 2021.
