Valentino confirms the appointment with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode within the Parisian Fashion Week calendar. But with a surprise move. The Maison has announced that the Code Temporal Haute Couture collection will be presented not from Paris as per tradition, but from Rome. The show in digital format will be held on Tuesday 26 January at 3.00 pm, in a splendid Roman location. The Great Hall of the Colonna Gallery. The designer used to show in the French capital, but the choice to shoot the show’s video in Italy is a vital and positive.

The Valentino Haute Couture collection results from the work of the Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli and the British artist Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack. The note released by the Maison reads: “These unprecedented times that the world is facing and the continuous updating on the anti-Covid 19 regulations, have motivated us to present the collections in a completely safe environment“. The chosen location will also be the protagonist of the making of a film by Robert del Naja that will tell the haute couture process.

The Great Hall of Galleria Colonna is a riot of art and beauty. Il Guercino, Jacopo Tintoretto, Francesco Salviati, Salvator Rosa, Guido Reni are just some of the great authors of the works that give wealth and prestige to the entire environment. A place that boasts over 300 years of history. Commissioned in the mid-1600s and inaugurated in 1700, it is a real jewel of the Roman Baroque. Mirrors, paintings, sculptures, and precious furnishings are the heart of the art collections, all perfectly preserved. Walking in this room is a real immersion in a historical era where beauty’s exaltation was an essential element. For decades, the same has characterized one of the most renowned Maison in the world, proudly Italian.
