Designed to carry our most personal and necessary objects, the bag is the most indispensable and trusted effect and in a certain sense has the task of accompanying us and making itself versatile both in public and private moments of daily life. Nowadays, a bag must serve the hustle and bustle of modern life demands, whether it’s an accessory for the working day or one for the weekend. This is the philosophy behind Valextra‘s 24/7 collection for the FW2023-24 season, which celebrates seven icons of “urban” craftsmanship modeled on the new sensibilities and rhythms of life in the modern city. The bags in question are the reinterpretation of the most famous models of the Milanese label: The Iside, the NoLo and the Babila bags, The “Bunny” Bucket Bag, the Duetto handbag, the Milano handbag and ultimately the Tric Trac bag.

Each model proves to be a precious ally in everyday life and has been designed to respond to multiple daily needs and to interact with our precious personal belongings. Indispensable at all times of the day, these creations represent, each with its own peculiarities, the beauty of a design that is expressed through high craftsmanship and aesthetic identity.
The excellence of Italian craftsmanship is developed starting from precious materials and innovative leathers such as those included in the new of the season, the Milan bag, result of a long period of tests and research developed with tanneries. The manufacturing techniques highlight a discreet luxury and a willingness to challenge time to create leather goods that become, for the customer, a heritage to inherit and to be handed over to future generations.
Starting from an important heritage and construction engineering techniques, inherited from Giovanni Fontana, founder of the Brand, Valextra is also demonstrating the desire to renew style and communication to keep up with the times and offer the market a dynamic and desirable product. “We lacked the ability to generate emotion and our current commitment, for women and men, goes in this direction,” said Xavier Rougeaux, CEO of Valextra.
The emotion that the brand’s 24/7 collection wants to give is actually a poem about reality: focused on essentiality and elegance, without neglecting the great link with its city of origin. In the presentation of the brand’s fall-winter 2023/24, Rougeaux in fact stated that «Valextra reflects the intrinsic beauty of Milan, that of its enchanting hidden gardens, that of the sobriety of the buildings’ facades. As a brand, we must be the first ambassador of Milaneseness».
Inspired by the daily cycle from sunrise to sunset, the new collection features a new color palette, starting with the morning light represented by powder blue and concrete grey. We then meet the midday buzz of citrine yellow, mint, apple and moss green, followed by the sunset of antique pink, peach, gold and Havana brown. While remaining faithful to the aesthetic and artisan character of Valextra, each piece in the collection expresses a different complexity in a unique way, conveying a bold but soft, reserved but eccentric style.
