In February, it was made official that Williams would become the new creative director of the “men” section of the brand, taking over from Virgil Abloh, who passed away in November 2021. “Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion — establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years,” Louis Vuitton wrote on Instagram at the time. “The way in which he breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship.”
The president and CEO of Louis Vuitton, Pietro Beccari, had also expressed himself on this matter, declaring that he was pleased to welcome Pharrell back as the new men’s creative director, after the past collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton. “His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.” added the CEO.

To date, the wait for his debut on the runways is getting shorter and shorter and in just under a month, the fashion world will finally get to see where the fashion house will head under the leadership of Pharrell.
The multi-hyphenate musician, who succeeds Virgil Abloh in the role, will unveil his first collection for Vuitton on the evening of June 20, the first day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, at 20:30 Paris time zone to be exact.
This was confirmed by the publication of the provisional calendar shared by the governing body of the French fashion industry, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, whose busy program includes 43 fashion shows and 38 presentations from 20 to 25 June.
In particular, the fact that the Louis Vuitton fashion show was scheduled two days earlier than the usual Thursday on which the brand usually presents its men’s collections did not go unnoticed.
Barring future changes to the calendar, we will therefore see Louis Vuitton move from its usual place to the opening day of the French men’s fashion week, even if the calendar officially kicks off, as usual, with the Bachelor of Arts dell’Institut Française de la Mode. Closing out the week on June 26 is Ludovic de Saint Sernin, who recently made headlines for stepping down as creative director of Ann Demeulemeester after just one season.
