Christmas is a synonym for tree, lights, family, friends, snow, happiness and most of all: Barbie. Even since I was a young girl, I would anxiously wait for the morning of December 25th, when I could finally unpack my Chritmas gifts, because I knew that among all my presents I would have found HER. How many feelings and memories, what a funny experience I had, when I found out that Moschino presented a new Christmas set for 2016, and its main characters are Barbie and Ken! Barbie and Ken love Moschino. As you may remember, Mattel announced that Barbie and Ken sadly split up in 2004. They say she got tired of him because he would never propose to her… until in February 2016 the couple announced they’re back together! Finally happy and together, they’re going to face the new year with a great adventure in the world of fashion.
In order to celebrate a memorable red carpet moment, Moschino had them wear the same clothes that Jeremy Scott, Moschino’s creative director, and Stella Maxwell (who looks just like Barbie!) wore to the 2015 MTV Music Award. Barbie is wearing a black velvet dress embroidered with graffiti and a powerful wrap (from the 2015 autumn-winter collection by Moschino), whereas Ken Carson is rocking a striped custom-made tuxedo, inspired to the TV test signal stripes. But that’s not all. Other than the set, you can also receive two genial beach towels, with Barbie or Ken drawn on them. I’ve bought them already!
